I grew up in Ashkelon about 10 kilometers (6 miles) north of Gaza, and I’ve been covering the Israel-Gaza border for almost 20 years, so I know this border from end to end. I have a lot of spots where I know I can get a good shot. ANN ARBOR, MI — For some people, the feeling of Christmas in Ann Arbor is unmatched.

The city has spent decades being a place for holiday memories, with children anxiously waiting in line for Santa at Briarwood Mall or parents finishing up last minute shopping downtown.

As streets fill with decorations, the city’s calendar gets packed with all kinds of holiday activities each year, including tree decorating, Christmas caroling and late-night shopping events.
